speaking of mid-2000s gonzo, here's a scene straight from that school, with only the ages of the participants, the highness of the definition, and the zooming trap beats that open it marking any difference in the passage of time.
i know and deeply respect alina lopez, one of the strongest young performers of the present moment, but this is my first encounter with anne amari, who appears to be less than a year into her career. because mason has stopped doing the brief interview to camera where she asks the girls what they're doing and how they feel about it, i have no feel for her personality beyond what reactions alina, who is very much driving the scene throughout, is able to elicit with her snakelike tongue and boundless energy. but they're both beautiful young women and give every indication of deeply enjoying the time they spend together on a white couch in a white room filled with eye-bleeding light from a window directly behind them.
as i've said, i really respect mason as a gonzo pornographer: her ability to capture action as it happens in single continuous takes is second to none. but the lighting here is terrible, making alina look jaundiced and not doing a lot of favors to anne's darker tones. (it's a rare pornographer who adequately lights black performers, as i believe i will have occasion to discuss later on.) that yellowish light is very 2000s-era gonzo, of course, as are the ridiculous clothes the girls are wearing, however briefly. that's not necessarily a bad thing (some of my favorite scenes are 2000s-era gonzo), but for someone looking for creativity and imagination in porn's visual storytelling, it is disappointing.
the scene is rescued, inasmuch as it is, by alina and anne: they both commit full-throttle, and if i was the sort of person to be skeptical of orgasms in porn i would have a hard time finding fault with these: plentiful and intense, with excellent communication throughout from alina, whose throaty passion is among the loveliest in contemporary porn. i'd love to see more from anne, who impressed me with both her skills working alina and in her reactions to being worked in turn. this is the first pro girl/girl scene i can find from her, and on this showing she's got a knack for it.
