at about the four-minute mark i was about to start complaining that the underlighting of these scenes meant that ana foxxx' dark skin was muddy and indistinct, and then someone either turned a light on or adjusted the camera's aperture properly, and for the rest of the scene the lighting was exceptionally beautiful.
the setting is a faux-leather couch in an echoey hall rather than a bed in a muffled room, so the sound is worse than the previous scene: and kenzie and ana are naturally louder performers than gina and lacy. this isn't gentle and romantic, but energetic and cheerful, with silly porn positions (including reverse cowboy on a dildo stuck to a glass table; ana is such a champ) and plenty of dirty talk. both of them are grown women who know what they like and how to communicate it to each other, and if i didn't believe them to have anything but a cordial professional connection, they didn't need to: the basic honesty of gonzo, where they don't need to pretend to be anyone but themselves, is appreciated.
the camerawork was much less intimate and involving than in the previous scene. no doubt due to the awkward couch setup, there was less room for camera operators to move around and find the best angle, so significant portions of the sex take place with the action entirely out of the shot. i wouldn't be surprised if entirely different crews shot the two scenes, the difference in filmmaking style was so great. it was still sophisticated and ultra-watchable, just more generic.
