two weeks into april, two wicked features with girl/girl scenes. i was not expecting that (before april, wicked hadn't posted a girl/girl scene since november, and they've always been relatively sparing), but i'm pleasantly surprised. and i'm overjoyed at the appearance here of ana foxxx, my favorite pornstar of her generation and one of the most beautiful women on the planet regardless of profession.
the scene itself is not particularly narratively interesting: it's a stylized example of an exclusive women's-only sex party being described by ryan driller to avi love (who play the principle characters). it's so indebted to 90s-style erotica, in fact, that mood music is the only sound throughout fully half the scene. but ana foxxx and serene siren are so expressive and engaging, even with the ridiculous kitty-cat roleplay, that they manage to keep my interest anyway. once the sound kicks on at a seemingly arbitrary point, i'm more invested, because serene is great at keeping dirty talk going, and ana sucking in air through gritted teeth is lovely to me at this point.
i wasn't familiar with director hank hoffman before, but i gather that he's part of axel braun's circle, a cinematographer who has moved into directing (and if the scuttlebutt is true, one of the people responsible for actually directing a bunch of stuff that braun's name appears on). the directing here was... fine. there's a baseline visual stylishness to it, because wicked has a reputation to maintain, but the use of two different cameras that capture ana's skin tone in very different ways is just one example of a poor attention to detail, though one that jumps out at me. the fact that the cameras seemed to remain stationary, or only moved laboriously, was a much more serious issue: it meant that as the women moved to reconfigure themselves for the next round of pleasure, the cameras weren't set up to capture them ideally; and indeed throughout the whole of the tribbing sequence you can barely see ana at all.
but serene and ana can't be contained by anything so trivial as less-than-ideal filmmaking: especially once i could hear them, they were scorching with their heat. if there was supposed to be some setup that serene is an older domme training ana, a younger pet, it didn't exactly come through; and serene is actually younger than ana, but you know what they say about black.
