the limit to my sympathy with kink's approach to its material has, i think, been found. i still respect their process: it's good to see everyone asked in clear terms what their limits are, whether their boundaries were respected, and what they think about what they did. but the end result, whether because i don't share the particular fetishes being catered to or because i have unreasonable standards for fetish porn, is still unsatisfactory.
very little of that is due to the performances. britney amber and penny pax are both wonderful second-tier performers with extensive experience and a creative knack for kinkiness; but the scenario gave them little to work with here, as it was mostly just a parade of toys going into penny's anus. (all the same toys, i note, as in the casey calvert/kira noir/whitney wright scene for the same kink brand earlier in the month, which rubs a little of the shine off of that one retrospectively.) after a delightfully campy introduction (britney's impatient doctor was quite funny), they settled into a standard groove, seeming to enjoy themselves very much throughout, although the necessity of filling an entire hour with improvised domme/sub dialogue led to a lot of very repetitive chatter.
there was, for someone who isn't obsessed with anal insertion and gaping, perhaps twenty minutes' worth of striking sex; but kink's dedication to showing all of the action in real time (cutting only to set up the next stage in the ass-filling olympics) meant that i was bored with many of the "events" long before the women involved were. again, it's great that they were enjoying themselves; i just wish i could have enjoyed it more.
the technical aspects were once more thoroughly adequate: good bright colors, awkward, rather clinical camera work with little eye for composition or visual variety, and excellent sound. maybe it's the fact that kink is visually starting to approximate the big attention-span harvesting corporations like mindgeek that leaves me so deflated when their content is still very much in the methodical, step-by-step kink mold.
