i have to admit i was a little bit disappointed when this popped up as the next update on allherluv: shyla and india have been paired together four times in the last five months on the site (not to mention once on girlsway in the same period), and as a fan of variety, i'm a little put off by the missa x model of production, which is to shoot several scenes with the same performers over the course of a day or two. i get why she does it that way, since it's the most efficient way to use the performers who fly out to wisconsin to shoot for her sites, but it does mean that when it's a pairing i've seen several times before, i start out with a slight grudge against it.
but this scene overcame that. i've written here in favor of zippy editing before, but i actually appreciate the way that missa x takes her time developing character and situation: as the signature cameo look on every frame of her productions suggests, she's all about setting a mood. the actual sex doesn't start here until almost half an hour into the scene, by which time the relationship between india and shyla has been fully established, and the high-concept setup, that they are stepmother and stepdaughter who have been sexting each other online without realizing it, has been relatively organically developed. there are revisions i would have made to the script (why make a point of shyla sending a photo of her boobs, if there's not a moment of recognition when she finally gets topless in front of india?), but that's a compliment to its quality, that it could bear editing and be improved rather than needing to be scrapped and start over again like most porn scripts.
india is a better actor than shyla, who has trouble modulating her performances, with little middle ground between the three points of sullen, furious, or sex kitten. so putting much of the interaction between them on laptops was an interesting way to solve for tonal issues. it almost goes without saying that the sex was spectacular, because india summer and shyla jennings, but i will note it for the record.
also for the record: the usual mediocrity of missax (the brand) camerawork, lighting, and editing applies. better than girlfriends, not as good as girlsway, itself on the low end of acceptable: i don't want to beat a dead horse. at least because so much of it was indoors at night there weren't too many shots blown out from natural light.
