this right here is the kind of thing that makes me embarrassed to watch porn. not that the rest of it isn't embarrassing in its way too, even the best of it: watching people have sex for twenty minutes or more at a time is just a fundamentally weird thing to want to do, no matter how it's gussied up with production, story, character, and design.
but this has none of that. it has terrible production values, terrible storytelling, terrible character work, and terrible design choices. a lot of that is, i'm sorry to say, on the performers. sofie reyez as a naughty student taking nude selfies in the school bathroom is barely tolerable; janna hicks as the teacher or administrator or something who catches her and switches in rapid succession from "you can't do that in here" to "oh, you're eighteen? let's go somewhere private" is not.
sofie is relatively new, but janna's apparently been kicking around the industry for a decade, though i've never seen her before (it looks like she dropped out after her first few scenes before coming back for low-budget milf roles). she would probably be much better served in gonzo, but she's stuck between a rock and a hard place: gonzo audiences by and large demand under-25s unless you're a megastar, and milf roles require a certain level of acting and improvisational talent. "ooh yeah, you're a naughty little girl" is very nearly her only contribution to dialogue during sex, occasionally varied with "yeah, fuck your teacher." she came up with a few original lines toward the end, but too little too late. sofie, meanwhile, contributed little but moaning in a different register from her regular speaking voice from one end of the sex to the other.
but the filmmaking was if anything even sloppier and less engaged than the performances. the novelty of occasionally cutting to sofie's cell phone footage quickly palled, and aside from that "camera" there seemed to be two capturing the action: one ugly, dingy fish-eye lens and one that could have been used to make passable porn if it were wielded by someone with an eye for composition. frustratingly, there were even some good shots in the mix; but mostly it was dull, flatly-composed long shots emphasizing how stupid and empty the set was, the clumsiness of sex on a desk, and the overall cheapness of the production.
reality kings is probably the most variable of all the mindgeek brands that put out girl/girl material: quite good work sits cheek by jowl with unutterable trash. everything depends on who's working that day, both in front of the camera and (though i don't get to see credits) behind.
