"in vivo" is an 80-minute scene (a "featurette," in industry-speak) released on march 14th on missax.com. i haven't watched the whole thing, but i gather that kenna and katrina play lesbian wives who find themselves stuck in such a way that only katrina sleeping with the male talent in the scene, chad white, can rescue them. the excerpt posted on allherluv on the last day of april is just the twenty-minute sex scene in which kenna shows katrina that she loves her and demands assurance that no one else makes her feel as good; i'm not even sure whether it comes before or after katrina's tryst with chad.
i haven't seen much of katrina jade's work, though i'm aware of her remarkable presence in the industry, but kenna james is one of the top four or five actors in the business and no slouch at the sex either. this scene suffers from not including the conversation between them that leads up to the sex, so i have to take their emotions and motivations on inference, but they are both riveting performers who portray the deeper emotions of the scene as well as the immediate pleasure of the experience in fine form. their connection gave narrative heft to every movement of the sex, positions developing semi-naturalistically rather than by choreography, and the result was one of the better sessions i've seen all month.
whether because this is just an excerpt or for some other reason, the missax cameo filter which darkens the corners of the screen never gets applied, which immediately made the visuals that much more compelling and watchable. in general the camerawork was noticeably better than the average allherluv scene, presumably because missa and her team save their a game for the flagship site. or for the featurettes; whitney wright's "endless" was of course also excellently shot.
i'm not entirely sure this counts as a scene proper for the purposes of this blog, but i really appreciate the "excerpt" in the title letting me know where it comes from; so many lesser sites just recycle content without a heads up. if i'm going to count girlfriends and zero tolerance dvd releases that only made it onto the web this month, if i'm going to count cherry pimps chat streams and european mutual masturbation scenes, sure why not. it's pretty great whether part of a larger narrative or not.
