if, as i hope i've made clear i wish to be the case, these last few scenes directed by stills by alan late last year are the last i ever see from him, then it's appropriate that at least one of them show off how terribly unimaginative he could be as a director. the blandness, stupidity, and tediousness of this scene should be remembered as his hallmarks, just as much as the novelty of his work as it first appeared back in 2015-2016 (when bree mills was still much more directly involved in girlsway).

that blandness, stupidity, and tediousness can only partly be laid at the feet of the performers, both of whom i've seen better work from but who did not appear to be trying terribly hard on the day of this shoot. they're both spiegler girls, but one of them is the spiegler girl i'm consistently least impressed by. i don't discuss my level of attraction to the perfomers here, because that's not part of what makes them good performers, so i'll leave it at that. at least once the sex starts, they both fully commit, and indeed perhaps overcommit: given the length and breathlessness of the tribbing sequence, i hope it was fun for both of them, because it quickly palled for me.

but a lot of that's on alan, and possibly the editor (there were supposedly three cameras present): endless tedious shots from the same angle, with shot compositions that made no sense until i realized that i was supposed to find seeing them from an even worse angle in a mirror interesting. the visual dullness of the set only accentuated how very standard and rote the positions they went through were: i know that the webyoung brand is supposed to be all light tones and gauzy innocence, but for that to work you have to actually shoot it that way. not to mention that both kendra and eliza are far too familiar and obviously experienced for me to buy into any simpering eighteen-year-old fiction.

which brings us to the stupidity of the script. in theory, two distant cousins who don't know each other meeting at a family reunion and hooking up could be an interesting story; but actually showing or even indicating the family reunion in any way other than through dialogue would be necessary to actually sell me the premise. (yes, i understand the time and budget constraints porn is shot under. i'm saying that this is a premise that doesn't work for me with those constraints.) the two girls pausing apparently at random throughout the sex to reiterate the premise, all but looking directly at the camera and saying, "remember, we're second cousins having sex at a family reunion," didn't help the believability at all: i always like dialogue during the sex to support the premise, but just repeating the premise is worse than saying nothing.

fuck stills by alan, may he never return.
