well, this is a whole lot.
let's start with the site. zebra girls, the girl/girl site from dogfart network (yes, it's the worst-named company in porn, an industry with stiff competition in that arena), which focuses entirely on interracial pairings, has frequently been one of my guilty pleasures over the past couple of years. or not guilty, really: conflicted. it's one of the few girl/girl sites to reliably feature black women, but it's also shot terribly and has frequently featured uncomfortable, borderline racist premises playing on white anxieties about "angry black women."
there's a little bit of that here: towards the end, jayden and victoria make a half-hearted attempt to push the scene into punishing dom/sub roleplay, but kenzie is so gleefully into it, refusing to play along with a fragile white princess demeanor, that they revert to the original three friends scenario. that original scenario is perfectly fine: victoria has been on a date, but is sexually frustrated, so her friends jayden (the hostess) and kenzie try to cheer her up with an ice cream party. because the talk turns sexual, kenzie demonstrates her deep-throating skills on a banana; one thing leads to another, and the line between playing with food and extremely messy sex gets blurred.
i am decidedly not someone who is into food play; jayden's occasional ocd-driven attempts to clean up the mess and concern about how it's getting everywhere is much more my speed than kenzie's filthmonster appetite or victoria's up-for-anything bemusement. so i found this difficult to watch until all the food finally got put away or dropped and they could just concentrate on the sex. which was over so quickly that i couldn't help wondering if kenzie had tweeted her controversial plea for girls who aren't into girls to stop doing girl/girl scenes after shooting this.
if so, it's a shame: based on this scene, i enjoy both victoria cakes and jayden starr, neither of whom i've ever watched before, because they're too wonderfully thicc for mainstream porn (not to mention being black, porn is so goddamn racist). that they both seemed more comfortable with the mess than with the sex seems to me like a byproduct of coming from the camming world, where non-normative performers are much more likely to get weird requests to play with all kinds of substances than they are to regularly engage in full-blown lesbian sex. but since they will almost certainly never be cast regularly enough to get enough experience with on-set sex to be comfortable and enthusiastic about it (like kenzie has, because she's tiny and white), this may very well be the last chance i get to enjoy them.
for once in a dogfart production, the lighting was acceptable. the camera work was not, though, and the editing left a lot to be desired as well. i wish every day that a company with genuinely solid production values would move into this space, showcasing black women of every shade and size, and blow dogfart out of the water. until then, i'll keep coming back for scraps.
