i am not typically somebody who is invested in keeping up with brand-new talent in the porn industry, because i am old enough to feel weird about paying close attention to eighteen year olds, but i started following mackenzie moss on twitter after i happened to notice her in a group photo of spiegler girls at avn, and watching her excitement about shooting her first scenes and her impatience for them to start being released was cute enough that when i saw that this, the first of her girl/girl scenes to be released, was coming up i couldn't help feeling a bit of affection toward it.
i needed that affection, because mofos' literalist take on the reality genre, in which a single camera is either "held" by one or the other of the participants in the scene or left in a stationary position for full-body shots in a thorough pretense that there's no camera operator present, is one of my least favorite genres of porn. i have the brain quirk that hates it when girls look at the camera, and the exaggerated perspectives of handheld cameras nearly always strike me as ugly and badly-composed.
all that said, this scene is perhaps the best-case scenario that first-person reality could have produced for me. the camera work is indeed sloppy and full of ungainly forced perspective, but the shots are often genuinely well-composed, and the colors are rich and vibrant instead of being blown-out or dingy like they so frequently are in scenes like this.
as might be expected from even a brand-new spiegler girl, mackenzie is genuinely good at her chosen profession, engaged throughout and quick with improvised dialogue. the somewhat more veteran performer milana may, who i haven't paid much attention to before now, kept up well, especially in a second language, and her playfulness impressed me. the barebones scenario of mackenzie getting in a workout with milana as her trainer was only half-heartedly followed, but they were having enough fun that it was hard to mind very much.
the sex itself was relatively forgettable, as is typical of reality scenes: constantly dividing one's attention between the other person's genitals and checking the camera is a bit of a mood-killer. the fact that the sex included a focus on expulsion of fluid didn't help: i'm not a squirting fan. but they looked like they were enjoying themselves, which is all that really matters.
