twistys may have retired the mom knows best brand, but i'm interested to see that they aren't wholly giving up on older/younger pairings. not that there's that much of an age gap between ballet student mary moody (26) and instructor vera king (32), despite mary's line of dialogue claiming to be eighteen. of course eighteen is close to retirement in the world of ballet, and no actual teenager with mary's figure would be encouraged to dance; but porn covers a multitude of sins.
both performers are relatively new, having only been in the industry a couple of years; and mary, as a girl/girl only performer (her main gig is camming), has shot relatively little. that relative inexperience bears out in the performances, which are perfectly pleasant but a little awkward: mary's habit of cataloging her number of orgasms in dialogue and vera's pokerfaced silence don't jibe well together. so i was grateful for the moment while mary was uncertainly lowering herself onto vera's face when they both broke and laughed at the silliness of the situation, and even more grateful that it was kept in. i'd be interested to see more from both of them, especially given material and partners that play to their strengths.
the camera work was decent given the limitations of the location: any full-length shots had to contend with glare from the street washing out the lens. once their positions were mostly horizontal, the internal lighting was much more exquisite, and close-ups were typically gorgeous. (i'm 99% sure holly randall shot this.) the editing was adequate, although again the location was troublesome because there was a lot of traffic noise. if there was meant to be a story rather than just a thematic montage, it was not conveyed: why they would start having sex, other than because it's a porn scene, was never clear. although vera wrapping it up at the end, telling mary that break was over, was a cute touch.
