it's probably perverse of me to give this scene my highest rating of any allgirlmassage scene so far this month when it was undoubtedly the most widely criticized and disliked by the network members who rated and commented on it. (to be fair, it is also the most liked scene of the month; but the like-to-dislike ratio is lower than on any scene not featuring a person of color.) the polarizing element is, as you might guess from the screengrab, aiden starr, whose porn career has been long and distinguished but who has transitioned into mostly behind-the-camera positions as the years have gone on and her waistline has thickened.
i'm all for a greater diversity of body types and expanding the range of what is normalized as sexy in porn, and although she's much shorter than her scene partners she's the closest thing we've gotten to a bbw all month, so i'm happy to report that aiden is the highlight of this scene, with a delightful capacity for expressing herself and the sort of eager enthusiasm that has been missing from a lot the more paint-by-numbers installments of the series. ryan keely is very much in competition, of course: one of the most convincing girl/girl performers of her era and dedicated to genuine pleasure with a ruthlessness rare in performers younger than her.
crystal rush, unfortunately, is the weak link, as her esl-born inability to get a word in edgewise and relative girl/girl inexperience compared to the veterans on the couch with her relegate her to the mostly-thankless role of being the person theoretically receiving pleasure from someone who is very much distracted by what the third person is doing to them. (even so, she managed to distinguish herself with some over-the-top bug-eyed expressions of pleasure.) but threesomes almost always end up having a third wheel.
the premise is pure porn nonsense, a silly skit on book clubs gone randy that could have used some punch-up from a late-night writers' room. (although i did kind of enjoy the fact that the prop book cover seemingly accidentally draws parallels between the work of e.m. hull, e.l. james, and george r.r. martin, and how their depictions of sex have been internalized by their popular audiences; but i'm a comp lit nerd who would think about that kind of thing while watching porn.) the repeated reminder throughout the sex that "yes, that's in the book" wore a bit thin; but the sex was also easy-going and enjoyable enough that it was easy to take a running gag.
this is certainly the most complex shoot i've seen from billy visual this month, as he has to keep track of three bodies rather than two, and he's up to it. the cluttered faux-homey decor is a significant downgrade from some of the more austere massage sets, and it's overlit like most of gamma's girl/girl productions, but otherwise the technical aspects are solid.
