the second episode of transfixed i'm reviewing is also the first with any kind of substantial storyline. casey and sarah are 50s housewives (sort of), and casey is satisfied in her marriage while sarah is not; she asks for advice to get her husband interested in her. casey shies away, murmuring that her secret to a happy sex life is a bit... unusual. but when sarah begs to know what it is, she shows her: why, she has a penis!
the campy setup is almost perfectly pitched; but the transition into the two of them having sex is less well motivated, unless the delight and hunger in sarah's eyes when she sees casey's lingerie-clad member is meant to cover it. my complaint last time about kayleigh being almost silent in contrast to kenzie is minimized here: casey has plenty to say, and sarah, herself one of the better actors in porn, seems to bring out the best in her.
the sexual performance felt more realistic than several of the previous transfixed scenes, perhaps because sarah is so good at communicating during sex; but also the set was a more traditional porn set than many of the previous episodes have featured, so it didn't feel quite as stylized. the yellowish lighting, too, was more homey and less striking: fitting for the scenario, perhaps, but this is the least high-concept transfixed scene yet (or, looking at previews, to come).
which doesn't mean i didn't like it: transfixed lives up to the hype of being THE premium trans lesbian brand. but i can't wait for a scenario this well-developed to match up with one of the more striking visuals.
