i've been looking forward to this scene in the schedule, because serena blair is always entertaining: she's one of the few porn actresses who has to improvise dialogue who seems to have actually absorbed the tenets of improv, always rolling with whatever her scene partner does and fleshing out her character or the situation with little quips and bits of business. she's also one of the top five all-time girl/girl performers in terms of sexual performance, which never hurts.
this scenario, sadly, doesn't give her as much room to play as some others, and while kali roses is a perfectly good porn performer she's rather more straightforward as an actress, leaning on the smoky timbre of her voice as an index to sensuality rather than developing much of a character. the setup is unusually bare-bones for a girlsway scene, and the conversation they have to get into yoga that would be useful (stage whisper) in bed seems to have been the casualty of some sloppy editing, as more than one apparent non-sequitur crops up.
once the sex starts, of course, they are both extremely impressive, especially with regards to their physical stamina, as the script calls for them to hold some ridiculous yoga poses throughout. in fact, they were so determined in their pursuit of orgasms despite the awkward positions that those who had to merely watch, rather than experience, the scene might conceivably have found some of the action tedious. not the performers' fault in the slightest, of course: assuming that was even a reasonable complaint, it should presumably be laid at editing's door.
this is another in the last batch of scenes directed by stills by alan that is more interestingly lit and designed than what i think of as the girlsway standard, with richer and more varied colors. although the usual unbalanced shot compositions, haphazard framing, and inadequate coverage (thanks to those damned stationary cameras) still applies.
(again fuck stills by alan, may he never return to girlsway/gamma.)
