i've talked shit about zero tolerance before over the course of this month, and i probably will have reason to again, but scenes like this make their shotgun approach to releasing bucketloads of content seem sensible. it's the fourth and last vignette from is it wrong she's my stepmom? volume three, and it's the best of the bunch.
most of that is due entirely to the central performances. as in the three previous scenes, the "stepdaughter" gives a brief voiceover introducing herself and her stepmother. but it's unnecessary, because the encounter that sovereign and victoria actually play out is far more engaging and full of personality and character than any of the voiceovers. sovereign walks in on victoria masturbating, and attempts to use it as a bonding moment despite her own discomfort; victoria sees her opportunity to finally seduce the stepmother she's been lusting over, and a battle of wills takes place between the reluctant authority figure and the predatory younger woman. sovereign syre is one of the best actors and improvisers in porn, and victoria rises to meet her at every occasion.
it's delicious to watch, in part because of the role reversal, but also because victoria doesn't look or act like a stereotypical "teen" performer, so the grossness of the basic scenario fades into two adult women engaging in a dance. both of them commit to their roles so well that there's no simple dividing line between the acting and the sex: it's all one performance, and their improvised dialogue throughout builds on character moments and maintains the forward momentum of the scene.
mike quasar's rock-solid cinematography remains on point, and i liked the off-center compositions he frequently chose, using negative space in an intelligent way rather than because of poor staging. the overall color scheme of yellow neatly wraps up the four previous entries, and the editing kept it fluid and dynamic. there were shots of extreme beauty, nothing got garbled, and my only real complaint is that it faded out without a line or two of dialogue to place a bow on the scene at the end: they had done such a great job establishing their characters that i wanted to know what they felt about the sex afterward, how it changed their relationship, or what the next step was.
i'm still not into stepmother/stepdaughter porn, but if it must be produced, let it be produced this well.
