tiffany watson and kira noir in “left at the altar”
scene title: left at the altar
performers: tiffany watson, kira noir
site: girlsway (gamma)
production credits: stills by alan (dir.), zombie (ed.), metalhead42 (scr.)
trailer
girlsway is the most prolific site among those i review here, so it's probably inevitable that there's a certain bored familiarity in my approach to their scenes. i know what to expect, especially from the last several scenes shot by stills by alan toward the end of 2018, and they're almost never going to surprise me anymore.
that's even more true with this scene, the second kira noir/tiffany watson pairing to run on girlsway in early 2019, which is unusual enough to be worthy of comment. their first pairing, "getting hot in here," was released after both scenes had been shot, so this isn't in response to fan demand. presumably it was about availability on the day; either way, they work well enough together that you could imagine the reunion being requested by either or both of them.
i'm more familiar with kira's work than with tiffany's, although i have nothing against the latter, whose twitter presence i've noticed as being articulate and funny but whose scenes have rarely left much of an impression on me. she's worked a lot since she got into the industry in 2016, though, and is just as much a pro as kira. she even gets to show off her comedic acting here, opening the scene in wailing tears played very much for romcom-style laughs rather than emotional realism. kira comes in to comfort her and give us the backstory: tiffany was left at the altar when her fiancé ran off with her stepmother, something kira lampshades as like out of a bad porn movie. the comforting becomes physical soon enough, and the tears are forgotten in favor of other fluids.
both women are very skilled at their job and give every indication of enjoying their time together, but still the scene never rises above the level of easy competence. the filmmaking was aggressively average, in keeping with stills by alan's usual shoot-by-numbers style, with perhaps slightly better compositions than usual. the bright sticommy lighting that has distinguished girlsway for so long has long since palled for me; it doesn't matter how skilled the performers are when the whole thing is so visually bland.
fuck stills by alan, may he never return.
