because i am the kind of ~~aesthetics~~ nerd who prioritizes porn that looks beautiful over porn that feels authentic, i have been keeping tabs on glamour site twistys for a while now. i was glad to see them make the move into going fully girl/girl this year, retiring brands that duplicated content elsewhere in the mindgeek empire and kicking off a new series, turning twistys, about lesbians seducing straight women. the results have been variable, but this is perhaps the best turning twistys scene yet.
partly that's because joanna angel and valentina nappi are both sexual dynamos, so that it never feels like an unequal contest, but partly too it's because the very basic setup (valentina as a bride with pre-wedding jitters, joanna as a friend who suggests she's making a mistake) is related as much through visual cues as through dialogue. valentina's fluffy white dress and joanna's androgynous attire tell their own story.
nappi's italian accent means that she'll always be underutilized as an actress in u.s. productions, but her portrayal of a woman caught between two conflicting desires and succumbing to the most immediate is the best in the small turning twistys ouvre yet. joanna, meanwhile, could have played her part more predatory but opted instead for tenderness, which made her glee during the more athletic sex positions all the more winning.
which doesn't mean it was perfect: the usual clunkiness of mindgeek scenes, with their reliance on "ad moments" (bits of easily-gifable visual pop that don't necessarily relate to the rest of the scene) and sloppy editing (valentina drops her wedding vows on the floor and is still holding them the next time we see her) set it back. but the visually daring choice to set the sex in a narrow hallway worked very well for me (the rich wood paneling was a great visual), and if there were a few times when the camera placement didn't really work, it was for the most part thoroughly competent.
joanna angel is aging into milf territory, not that most milf fetishists would welcome her: she's too punk, and too jewish, for them. but that's great for me: she can just play a grown woman having sex with other grown women, and i'll be happy to see her every time.
